Bethel Acres, Oklahoma |
On May 10, 2009 Bethel Acres was struck by two devastating tornados. There were no lives lost but there were a number of injuries and millions of dollars of property damage. The storms came through late in the afternoon when they could visually be seen. Our town's trustees restructured some of their finances and purchased two sirens for $40,000.00 and had them installed at two of the locations that were designed for our town.
Our local emergency management personnel prepared a study that indicated we needed six sirens, but because of the lack of funding we were only able to purchase the two. The sirens cost $20,000.00 a piece installed. We live in Tornado Alley here in central Oklahoma and we need help in protecting our citizens.
Any donations will be appreciated. Thank you
