How to send donations

My parents and I put $100 dollars into the Skyfunder account, but it never asked for a credit card number or any information to transfer money. It says I received a $100 dollar donation, but how does it add the money without requesting bank or credit card information?

The only donation your fund has at the moment was added as an "Offline Donation". These donations are added through the SkyFunder Dashboard and do not reflect online transactions. They are used for updating your donation page so that people who give you checks toward you goal can be recognized.

To collect money with your donation page, donors must go to your donation page URL, click Donate Online, and follow the steps through PayPal.

How do I get a report of all my donors?

You can easily export a report of all donation activity by completing the following steps:

1. Sign In to your SkyFunder account.
2. Click the 'More' tab.
3. Select the 'Donations' option from the menu.
4. Click the 'Export' link on the Donations page.

Facebook sharing

I have tried to share my page on Facebook, but it does not appear on my wall and only appeared on a handful of my friends' walls...I've shared the page twice, once yesterday and once today, but the invites are still not showing up, nor does anything show up on my own wall, even when I post updates.

We've heard reports of sharing limits imposed on certain Facebook accounts - at times allowing only 20 or so invites to be sent each day. We're working on making this area of SkyFunder better for our users. Please stay tuned for an update soon.

How do I get listed in the Search Directory?

It's easy to get listed in the SkyFunder Search Directory.

1. First, you'll need to request to be listed during Sign-Up or by signing in to SkyFunder and clicking the 'Edit' tab.
2. Next, click on the 'Public Search Preferences' link towards the top of the page.
3. Enter the required info and click the 'Save' button.
4. Before you appear in the Search Directory, there are two additional requirements that must be met in order to ensure authenticity of funds and to protect donors:

- listed funds must be 'Facebook Verified' (achieved by connecting your Facebook account)

- the page must have raised at least $100 in online donations.

Why is PayPal forcing donors to log in?

99.9% of PayPal inquiries are due to the collector's invalid PayPal account type. A fully verified PayPal 'Premier' account (don't worry, they're FREE) is required to give your donors a smooth payment experience.

Below is a blog post we wrote on the topic:

As most of you already know, your SkyFunder online donation page connects directly to your PayPal account to ensure that you have instant, secure access to every donation you receive. If you haven’t done so already, please take advantage of PayPal’s FREE upgrade to the ‘Premier’ account level. Again, it doesn’t cost anything to upgrade your PayPal account to the ‘Premier’ level, and it makes the donation experience a lot easier on your donors. Easy for them means easy money for you!

It’s common for new SkyFunder users to sign up for PayPal accounts in a hurry. In doing so, users sometimes miss important instructions from PayPal – like forgetting to click the verification link in the welcome email or omitting certain contact information. Any time this happens, PayPal is likely to prevent your account from working the way it should for security reasons.

In short, the more PayPal knows about you, the more they trust that you’re not up to no good : ) Upgrading to a PayPal ‘Premier’ account takes only a few minutes and helps ensure that your visitors can donate to your page without having to sign in to a PayPal account of their own. Again, easy for them means easy money for you!
